Position Summary: Senior System Engineer at OrthoNebraska is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing the hospital's IT infrastructure to ensure seamless operation and support for clinical and administrative activities. This role involves leading the deployment of complex systems, managing system integrations, and resolving advanced technical issues. The Senior Systems Engineer works closely with IT and clinical teams to enhance system performance, ensure data security, and support the hospital's mission to provide exceptional care.

Position Requirements
Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Licensure: N/A
Certification: VMWare and Microsoft Certifications preferred.
Experience:
- 7+ years of System Engineering experience required.
- Experience & knowledge with Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Horizon VDI, VMware vSphere, and VM Server & SAN Hardware preferred.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in system and networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP, DHCP).
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure hardware (e.g., SANs, Servers).
- Strong understanding of Microsoft server & workstation operating systems, Active Directory, Office 365, and familiarity with licensing models.
- Strong knowledge of information security best practices.
- Experience in monitoring and addressing system vulnerabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain and support Cisco UCS Servers, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain MS Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Recommend and implement upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment to enhance the IT infrastructure.
- Maintain, update, and support the Horizon VDI environment, including desktops and applications, to provide a stable and efficient virtual desktop experience.
- Responsible for updates to all Windows Servers and workstations, ensuring they are secure and up to date.
- Maintain, update, and support the VMware vSphere environment and Pure Storage, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Ensure the security of the organization's systems by monitoring for vulnerabilities, applying security patches promptly, and maintaining a secure configuration posture in accordance with industry benchmarks.
- Maintain Disaster Recovery Plan and Backup Strategy to ensure business continuity.
- Provide support to end users on a variety of issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
- Own and support various applications involved in the day-to-day operation of the company, ensuring their smooth operation and addressing any issues that arise.
- Provide mentoring, training, and leadership to other members for the technical support team.
- Ability to work after hour/weekend as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
